KIND WORDS

From Lea & Duncan Pilgrim, wedding @ Balbirnie House, Fife - “From the pictures on David’s website it was clear that he was not your typical wedding photographer and we were looking for a someone that took more than just portrait pictures.  We wanted someone to catch the essence of the day because in reality the photographs are one of the only things that you get to keep for the rest of your life. On the day David and his assistant were excellent at keeping everything moving and making sure everyone was relaxed and comfortable, this made the whole experience an enjoyable part of the day. This is clear when you look at the end result with all the guests and even the wedding party looking natural and relaxed. I don’t think you can be prepared for the storybook that you receive from David.  It is not like anything we had ever seen and the attention detail of the storybook is synonymous with the way that David approached the whole engagement from initial discussion to final product. If you are looking for something special to remember your wedding day then David Ho is the photographer you need.”

From Heather & Adam Berry, wedding @ Peckforton Castle, Cheshire - “Happy to give you some feedback! We chose you to be the one to capture our special day because we loved the contemporary mix of photojournalism and formal styles that you provided. We fell in love with your unique artistic style as soon as we saw your work; your artistic eye managed to capture our day in ways we never thought possible! On the day itself both of you were extremely helpful and made us all feel at ease with your sense of humour and delightful character. You directed us in a friendly yet professional manner and became a part of our special day. The wedding pictures were very professional and done to an extremely high standard, we have had nothing but positive comments from our family and friends, with many of them stating they have never seen another wedding album so beautifully and professionally done. We would highly recommend you to any one of our family and friends, and its worth noting that although your prices may be higher than some of the other photographers, it is truly worth every penny because no other photographer would have managed to capture the day as well. And after all, when the wedding the wedding is over, your wedding album is the one visual thing left that reflects your special day and we can safely say that it is money well spent and something which we will treasure forever.”

From Michelle & Derek Darling, wedding @ Cramond Kirk, Edinburgh to Dundas Castle - “Our wedding venue, Dundas Castle, recommended 4 photographers to us based on previous work and referrals from couples who had married there. My husband and I were instantly drawn to David’s work. His pictures were beautifully presented in a acrylic fronted, leather album and the images were the perfect blend of gorgeously striking, glamorous yet intimate moments. We just felt that his work represented what our day meant to us – romantic, personal and focused on the union of us as a couple and our two amazing families. We wanted to look back at our pictures in 20 years time and see the memory behind each moment. Staged, family photographs were of course important to us but overall we wanted our pictures to tell the true story of our day as it happened in an non-contrived way. We arranged appointments with all 4 photographers and after meeting with David first we decided to cancel the others – we were already sold on his work but just fell in love him as a person. Working with David has been an absolute joy from start to finish. Every email received, conversation had or meeting attended was met with more enthusiasm than the last and he really added to the excitement of planning such a special day. On the day itself it is very easy to get caught up in the emotion of the whole occasion and he was such a calming, reassuring influence to be around. Ours was a rather large, hectic wedding which over-ran from start to finish but he met any issue with a smile and a resolution. Our family and friends have all commented on how lovely and accommodating he was (especially to some of our more eager amateur-photographers) and he generally just slotted in to the day as if he was a family member capturing each moment as it unfolded. After the wedding, we were absolutely delighted with our first draft storybook design but wanted to make a few amendments. David being David, could not have been more patient, understanding and flexible to work with and walked us through each edit so as to retain the essence of what he had created while achieving exactly what we pictured in our minds. We are absolutely thrilled with the finished outcome. Viewing our photos is like re-living the day itself all over again. Every page tells a story and every image brings back a memory. We honestly could not be happier and know that we’ll look back at our day in 20 years and remember exactly how perfect it was. My advice to anyone thinking of booking David Ho is a) follow his blog where you can view his previous work and b) meet him in person. Either way should cement your decision.”

From Jake & Adele O’Connor, wedding @ St Patrick’s, Coatbridge - “It is not until you see them in final print that you can appreciate the level of detail in each picture ( the computer screen does not do them justice ). On opening the storybook I was totally blown away and it reminded me of how we felt when we first saw your portfolio, only so much better as it was  our own experiences. I would like to thank you for creating such a stunning record of our day, you may be quite expensive but you get what you pay for in life and you have delivered a fantastic product and we feel you were well worth the extra cost. The parent books are so much better than I expected (and I am a hard man to please as you obviously know ! ) and the calender was a lovely gesture. It leaves us with a good feeling of the whole experience and our storybook is a lasting memory of it.”

From Rachel & Ian McCabe, wedding @ Dundas Castle -We first came across David’s work on a visit to Dundas Castle. Whilst looking through the selection of photograher’s albums we picked up David’s. Being a shoe addict, much more than Carrie Bradshaw, I was blown away by the fact the he had dedicated an entire two page spread to the bride’s shoes. Well it sealed the deal for me! And, well, husbands to be can’t really argue with that logic. We then went to meet with David as and felt so relaxed and comfortable in his company we instantly knew he’d fit right in on our special day. We were very keen not to have the usual “cookie cutter” wedding photos that, well frankly could be anyone’s day (if you photoshop’d the heads about!). David was up for all our crazy ideas, which included, Reservour Dogs, shoes, Dirty Dancing and the Groom & Best Man arriving on a motorbike (Groom – “How are we gonna get these shots?” David - “We’ll jump in the back of that pick up truck, sit on those crates and you follow us on your motorbike!!”). What we wished for was fun and elegance, what we got was a movie star wedding storybook! We cannot praise David’s work enough, our album has travelled round the world being shown to relatives and basically anyone who will look! Nobody has EVER seen pictures like it. We love David’s work so much that we have subsequently done TWO “Trash the Dress” shoots after the wedding, one resulting with me in the River Forth. David’s studio has photographed my pregnancy photos and also our daughter Meadow’s christening. David fits in with everyone and everywhere he goes. Don’t worry of you are self conscious regarding getting photographed or if you have camera shy guests, he will put you completely at ease and make you want to take it that little bit further. Your camera shy guests will be posing like Naomi Campbell on a bad day in no time! In all seriousness, if you want to feel and look like a movie star on your wedding day then Mr Ho is definately the man for you! Outstanding in every way!”
