I remember back in November 2009 when Jonathan & Laura invited me to Venice to photograph them tying the knot in that mystical city. I’d never been to Italy before and what a jaw dropping introduction. I spent the days photographing the bride & groom against some of the most ornate city backdrops in the world and the nights exploring this hauntingly serene city on foot. And I felt totally safe doing so. Over the years, I’ve always had my hands full photographing weddings all over Scotland & England to even contemplate promoting myself as a destination wedding photographer, one that will travel anywhere in the world. But I’ve had second thoughts on this. The more I think about it, the more I want to prioritise weddings abroad, the more I want to experience weddings in other cultures, towns and cities, the more I want to show off my wedding photography skills and ply my trade all over the world. I’m pretty sure I can hold my own anywhere. So let’s just put it out to the universe – my camera’s packed and I’m ready to go!
